There were a few references to the first game, but thankfully it wasn't worth watching. And even if you have seen the cartoon "In the Spider Poem", there are still many faces in it that you may not recognize. New operations are scattered throughout the city, but most of the major missions take place in Harlem. Some of the twists are too convenient, but there isn't as much room in the sequence of events as Peter's. Miles plays a big role here, but Peter appears in a few scenes, sometimes calling from overseas to check on everything. The change of actors does not affect either the game or the plot, but it is impossible to ignore the person who admired the first game. Amazing, at least we have these short games to ease the transition before we continue with Insomniac's plans for Peter in this new generation. Walk around the city, beat the bad guys, because this time Miles will feel like someone else is wearing a suit.

Whether you're looking at the details or hovering over a frozen horizon, Spider-Man. Miles Morales looks better than the first game in every way.
It certainly provides the foundation for a great sequel, but it's more than just a generational gap.
